DURAMAG has solved the geometry and durability problems of putting straight-walled, big-bore rounds in a magazine designed for smaller, tapered cartridges by simply not doing it. Unlike other stop-gap solutions such as after-market followers or springs, the new DURAMAG .450 Bushmaster is a complete solution designed from the ground up to properly support the round in a magazine that fits into the AR15 magazine well.
Until now the challenge has always been the magazine. While originally intended to fit a standard AR15 magazine, improper geometry and follower design has led to feeding issues and rifle malfunctions. Some home-remedies worked, but the unique stresses caused by this load typically deformed the magazine after just 10-20 cycles.
Thousands of rounds from a single magazine of in-house and third-party testing by firearms manufacturers have confirmed DURAMAG is the answer. An advancement in magazine design and construction has made this possible. By creating a proprietary internal bracing system and laser-welding it into a 410 stainless-steel body, DURAMAG is able to control round stack and prevent misalignment when rounds attempt to double stack. DURAMAG’s system also ensures the thousandth round feeds just as reliably as the first. This .450 Bushmaster-unique development is in addition to the suite of technology DURAMAG fans have come to rely upon.

I was recently out at the range to test my new magazines for my 450 Bushmaster. They performed flawlessly. Very high quality and I will definitely be ordering more in the future!
Don’t hesitate to buy these mags. I now own 5 of them. Each one has functioned perfectly so far. Don’t waste your time trying to convert a standard 30 round 5.56 mag by switching the follower and messing around with a Dremel. I tried that myself and it just doesn’t work well. These Duramag offerings are engineered to run the 450 Bushmaster cartridge. They put plenty of thought into these and it shows. It’s a quality product. The mags even have “450, SS” stamped into them. I’m here to tell y’all you’ll be satisfied with these mags. 450 hits like a freight train!
These Mags are nicer than expected. They fit cleanly, drop smooth but don’t rattle at all, and the feed seems to be excellent. I’ve only put a handful of rounds through it, but it seems to be a great mag.
This is the 3rd Duramag of this type for my 450 and they have run flawlessly. Just wanted to have more on handle.
These feed extremely well. I have tried various versions of 450 magazines including homemade versions. These are worth the cost as they work every time.
I wanted to add more: the detail on these mags is fantastic. The fit and finish are awesome too. Cannot brag on these enough, they make your 450 complete. They are made in the USA! Using a standard magazine and/or just switching the follower out is not a reliable option. These guys did their homework and created a fantastic product. Get these for your 450 build and you will not be disappointed! If you guys at Aerospace Arms are listening, the only thing better would be a 10 round!
I bought two of these after assembling my 1st 450 Bushmaster rifle. They are a perfect fit and have functioned perfectly so far. Before I found these, I had just switched the follower in six regular 30 round mags. I did not know any better. In a standard mag, the rounds are barley held in by the feed lips. The rounds can almost be pushed out of the rear past the feed lips, the rim of the cartridge can stick out past the back of the mag. Also on a regular magazine, the edge of the case can catch on the magazine and stop causing a failure to feed. Last, the rounds can kind of double stack in a standard magazine. The Duramag on the other hand has addressed all these issues. The dimples on the sides of the Duramag are deeper and hold the rounds in a straight line. The feed lips are shaped for the 45 caliber cartridges and hold them in place correctly. The stainless steel construction is much sturdier than standard aluminum magazines. All around they are a perfect, reliable magazine for the 450 Bushmaster round. I will be buying more soon!
